Miley and Mommy :)

Garland and I attended the Miley Cyrus Concert at Nationwide Arena on Wednesday, October 7 ~ This was and early birthday gift for our almost five-year old ~ We had a great time and Gigi was completely memorized by the whole experience ~ We had dinner at "Hot Dogs and Cheese" aka Skyline Chili and I bought Gigi a fun light up butterfly outside of Nationwide before we went to the show ~ She also wore her new dress and shrug from Justice ~ Our little girl is growing up!

Back to School

Hayden and Sawyer started back to school this week much to Mama's chagrin ~ We had a great summer and none of us wanted to see it end ~ Both boys are at Mill Valley Elementary again this year ~ Sawyer is in Mrs. Bauserman's second grade class and Hayden is in Mr. Hutson's fourth grade class ~ Bauserman was also Hayden's second grade teacher so Sawyer felt very comfortable meeting his "new" teacher ~ Hayden has been selected to help with flag duty this year along with several of his classmates ~ Here's to a great year!

Chef Sawyer :)

The Ribbon Box Bakery in Marysville gave all the kids who won blue ribbons in the Union County Fair's baking contest the opportunity to sell their winning concoctions at the bakery on Tuesday, August 26. Sawyer was THRILLED and got really giggly when Hayden read him the letter inviting Sawyer to participate. The Ribbon Box was wonderful and really treated the kids like stars. Sawyer got to keep all the profits from his pumpkin bread sale. He used the money to buy a new Webkinz.

Batter Up Baby B!!!

Sawyer enjoyed playing coach-pitch this year and Brandon had fun as head coach ~ Sawyer had several friends on his team including one of his best buddies, Luke Haskell. Luke's Dad, Jon, helped out and was the team's assistant coach. Grandpa "GG" Bix's company Westerville Home Inspection Services was the team sponsor ~ GO WHIS Red Team!!!

Blue Ribbon Babies!

We do enjoy the fair and this year was not exception ~ Hayden had a great first year of 4H after spending three years in Cloverbuds ~ He took three special interest projects to the Union County Fair (photography, woodworking and staying healthy) and recieved "A" blue ribbons for all three projects ~ He also qualified to show at the Ohio State Fair with his Staying Health Project where he recieved another cool ribbon ~ Hayden also recieved a blue ribbon for a black and white photo he took of minature sunflowers at the Franklin Park Conservatory ~ He recieved a third place ribbon for the color nature category for another photo of flowers ~ Lastly, he ended the week with a third place in the Original Category of the Dog Costume Contest ~ He dressed up Zoe up as a Bengals Fan and he dressed as a rival Browns Fan ~

Sawyer is currently in his second year of Cloverbuds ~ He entered a pumpkin bread in the junior culinary open class contest and received FIRST PLACE!!! I was so excited when I saw that blue ribbon on his entry ~ All first and second place winners had the opportunity to auction their baked goods off to the highest bidder ~ Baby B's Pumpkin Bread went for $15 of which Sawyer got to keep $10.50 which he spent on a new Webkinz ~ He was so proud!!!

Gigi wasn't going to be outdone by her brothers ~ Despite being only 4 and not even eligible for 4H until she enters Kindergarten she still entered in two open class contests ~ Her Veggie Critter took a third place ribbon in the Flower Show and she took FIRST PLACE with Zoe in the Dog Costume Contest ~ Zoe was Tarzan complete with wig and Gigi was the demure Jane ~ We had fun with labels and identified each of them with "I Tarzan" and "You Jane"

We had a great week and even though I was ready for a break from the fair all three of the kids were sad on Monday, August 3 when we drove by the fairgrounds and they realized they had to wait another 357 for the next one ~
